Boost the adoption of expiration dates in Open Source email clients

Recently, we published a feature proposal for Open Source email clients.

Following the publication of this document, 16 open-source email clients have been proposed to implement email expiration dates!

We have proposed implementing the email expiration date feature in more than 16 open-source email clients, including Thunderbird, ProtonMail, RoundCube, and many others!

This feature would help users identify and manage expired marketing emails, reducing digital clutter and the environmental impact of email storage.

But we need your support! To encourage these email clients to effectively implement inbox cleaning features based on expiration dates, they need to feel community interest. And the best way is to show your interest by voting and commenting.
