Cofidis financially supports email expiration dates and has been adding them to their email campaigns since May 2024.
In June-July, Badsender.com launched a call for funding an advocacy manager for the email expiration dates project (more information about support packages here: https://www.badsender.com/soutien-date-expiration-email/). Cofidis, which has been morally supporting our project since 2022, showed their financial support in November 2024.
We are delighted to welcome Cofidis as the second financial supporter of the initiative. They chose the “Committed” support package, representing the highest level of engagement.
As part of its new status as a mission-driven company, Cofidis has firmly committed to reducing its carbon footprint.
We communicate daily with millions of customers and consider email an essential contact channel. To reduce our environmental impact, we have undertaken several actions: reducing sending volume, optimizing message size, improving accessibility, and, since May 2024, incorporating an expiration date in our emails. This latest initiative enables automated message deletion, thereby freeing up storage space and reducing server energy consumption. Patrice Duquesne, Head of Communications at Cofidis.
Cofidis teams have established two validity periods: 20 days after the sending date for commercial emails and 40 days for regulatory emails.
The implementation of these expiration dates is automatic based on email type. This automation prevents any additional work for campaign managers, as it applies directly to all their email campaigns and new templates.
Thanks to Alexandra Di Giusto, Campaign Planning Product Manager at Cofidis, for her perseverance in advancing this project. Thanks to Manon Przybylski for her valuable support in setting up the parameters in Adobe Campaign. And thanks to Patrice Duquesne for communication around this project!
